Hello there. Welcome back. For this week’s look, I want to share this vibrant dress I made for Mood Fabric’s Africontest contest. The contest was held on Mood Fabric’s Instagram page and voting was held on their Facebook page. The contest required using African printed fabric from Mood Fabric’s and making anything from it and sharing it on their Instagram page in order to win a $100 gift card to use on http://www.mooodfabric.com.

So this is what I made for the contest. I love the print of this fabric and the glitter on it, the picture doesn’t do it justice. As for the overall finished project, I’m not really feeling. The fit is kind of awkward. I’m planning on altering the dress into a maxi skirt and blouse and adding a waistband, hopefully, it will look better once the changed are made.
Unfortunately I didn’t win the contest, someone else who using the same fabric did.
Vogue 9201 View B
I cut a size 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, they were.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that it had pleats which were easy to create
I liked that it came in a maxi option and long sleeve
I honestly didn’t like the fit and how it looked on me, maybe its because of the fabric I used
65% Cotton, 35% Polyester
Pattern Alterations or any design changes made:
Would you sew it again?
I might try it again with a different type of fabric
On a scale of one to three, one being the least, how modest is this pattern?
It’s an okay pattern. I don’t know if I would recommend it .
